Terms of Service
Version 1.0 (draft) · Effective 13 October 2026
Welcome to Owambe Meter. This page explains the rules for using the app, in plain language. The short version: be 18 or older, post your own outfits, keep it clean, vote honestly, and we will look after the rest.
1. Who we are and what this is
Owambe Meter is a community app where people share photos and short videos of party outfits (aso ebi, agbada, gele and more), rate each other’s looks, follow creators, comment, send messages, and celebrate with virtual Spray Notes. It is run by Owambe Meter Limited (company number [REPLACE: company registration number, e.g. RC number]) (“we”, “us”, “our”).
These terms are a contract between you and us. Please read them; if something is unclear, write to support@owambemeter.com.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account, signing in, or using Owambe Meter, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, the Spray Notes Terms, and our Copyright & Takedown policy. Together these are “the Terms”. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the app.
Anyone can browse the feed without an account. Everything else, such as voting, liking, commenting, following, messaging, reporting, using Spray Notes, and posting, needs an account.
3. Who can use Owambe Meter
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you are younger, you may not create an account or appear in content on the service.
- You must not have been banned from the service before.
- You may have one account. You may not create accounts for the purpose of voting more than once, buy, sell, rent or transfer an account, or share your login with others.
- You must sign in with a method we support: Google, Telegram, or an email address you control.
We may ask you to confirm your age or identity if we have reason to doubt either, and we may remove accounts that we believe belong to someone under 18.
4. Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not impersonate another person, brand or celebrity.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your Google, Telegram and email accounts secure; turn on their two-step verification where you can.
- Tell us straight away at support@owambemeter.com if you think someone has accessed your account.
- We may reclaim or change a username that infringes someone’s rights, impersonates someone, or is offensive.
5. Your content
You own your content. “Your content” means the photos, videos, captions, comments, messages, profile details and anything else you put on Owambe Meter. Nothing in these terms takes your ownership away.
What you allow us to do. To run the service we need your permission to use your content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, convert (for example, create smaller versions and video streams), display, and distribute your content only so we can operate, secure, improve and promote Owambe Meter. “Promote” means showing your public posts inside the service (for example the feed, profiles, leaderboards and share previews). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that expire as described in the Privacy Policy, and except where the law requires us to keep something.
What you promise about your content. You confirm that:
- you own it, or have the permission needed to post it;
- everyone who can be identified in it is 18 or older and has agreed to be posted on a public service;
- it does not break the law or anyone’s rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and image rights; and
- it follows our Community Guidelines (in short: keep it about outfits, and keep it clean, with no nudity or sexual content).
How publishing works
Posts that pass our automatic technical processing are published automatically. We do not review each post before it goes live. We act on reports and our own checks after publication, so please report anything that breaks the rules. Content staying up does not mean we approve of it.
What we do to your uploads. We process what you upload: we create new, resized copies of photos and new video streams, and we remove embedded information such as GPS location from the copies we publish. The original files are kept privately for a short time to complete processing and are then deleted (see the Privacy Policy).
6. Rules of conduct
The Community Guidelines explain our rules in detail. In short, you must not:
- post nudity, sexual content, content involving anyone under 18, graphic violence, hate, harassment, threats, or illegal activity;
- share other people’s private information, or photos of people without their consent;
- post spam or scams, or promote things unrelated to party fashion;
- manipulate votes, scores, likes or rankings, including with fake accounts, bots, scripts, or by paying or being paid for votes;
- scrape, copy or collect data from the service by automated means, or try to reverse-engineer it;
- interfere with the service or others’ use of it, probe or bypass security or limits, or attack our systems; or
- use the service for anything unlawful, or help anyone else to do so.
7. Scores, rankings and tiers
Looks receive a score based on how other members vote (“Hype” or “Pass”), and members are placed in tiers (such as “Souvenir Chaser” or “Chief Host”). This is calculated automatically, for fun, and is not a judgement of you as a person. We do not promise any particular score, rank or visibility.
If we believe votes, likes or scores were produced by cheating or abuse, we may remove those votes, adjust or reset scores and rankings, remove content, or suspend the accounts involved. If we ever run a contest with prizes, it will have its own written rules.
8. Spray Notes and virtual items
Spray Notes are virtual celebration items you can “spray” on a look you love. They are not money, e-money, or a bank deposit, and they have no cash value. The full rules, including how balances work, are in the Spray Notes Terms, which form part of these terms.
10. Moderation, reports and enforcement
Anyone with an account can report a post. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, suspend or permanently remove accounts, remove votes or scores, and report unlawful activity to the authorities. Where it is practical and safe we will tell you what we did and why, and you can ask us to reconsider by writing to support@owambemeter.com within 14 days. We may act without notice where there is a risk to safety, a legal requirement, or serious abuse.
If you believe someone has copied your work, follow the process in our Copyright & Takedown policy. To report unsafe content or child-safety concerns, write to safety@owambemeter.com.
11. Other companies’ services
Owambe Meter works with services run by others, for example Google and Telegram for signing in, and WhatsApp if you choose to share a link. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for them.
12. Our rights
The Owambe Meter name, logo, design, software and everything else we create belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell or exploit any part of it beyond that. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
13. Ending your use of the service
You can stop using Owambe Meter at any time, and you can delete your account from your profile. Deleting is permanent. See that page for exactly what is removed and what we are required to keep.
We may suspend or end your access if you break the Terms, if we are required to by law, if your account is inactive for a long time, or to protect others or the service. If we end your account for breaking the rules, we may keep the records needed to stop you coming back. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, liability, and disputes) continue after your account ends.
14. Things we cannot promise
We work hard to keep the service running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or secure, that content will be accurate, or that other members will behave well. Members are responsible for their own content and conduct. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer-protection or other laws that cannot be waived.
15. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, which for a free service is nil. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer, to the extent the law allows, because of your content or your serious breach of these terms or of someone else’s rights.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. For significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account first.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please write to legal@owambemeter.com first so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If that does not work, the courts of [REPLACE: city whose courts decide disputes, e.g. Lagos] have jurisdiction, although this does not take away any right you have under mandatory consumer or data-protection law to go to another court or regulator.
18. General
- These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
- If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- We may transfer our rights and duties under these Terms to a successor to the business. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
