Copyright & Takedowns

Version 1.0 (draft) · Effective 13 October 2026

If someone has posted your work without permission, here is how to tell us and what happens next.

1. Our approach

We respect the rights of designers, tailors, photographers and everyone who creates the beautiful things shared on Owambe Meter, and we expect our members to do the same. Members may post only content they own or have permission to use. When we are told that content infringes someone’s rights, we act on it promptly.

2. How to report infringing content

Send a written notice to legal@owambemeter.com that includes:

  1. your name and contact details, and (if you act for someone else) who you act for and your authority to do so;
  2. a description of the work you say has been copied, and, if you can, a link to the original;
  3. the link (URL) of the post on Owambe Meter, so we can find exactly what you are reporting;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner, or are authorised to act for the owner; and
  6. your signature (a typed full name is fine).

Quick route

You can also use the Report option on a post and choose “copyright”. The written notice above helps us act faster and more fully.

3. What we do

  • We review the notice and, if it is complete and the claim is credible, remove or disable the content.
  • We tell the member who posted it, and give them the chance to respond.
  • We may share your notice, including your name and contact details, with that member, because they are entitled to know who is making the claim.

4. If your content was removed by mistake

If you believe your content was removed in error, or you have permission to use it, write to legal@owambemeter.com with the link to the content, a clear explanation, and a statement that you believe in good faith that it was removed by mistake or misidentification. We will pass your response to the person who made the claim. Unless they confirm to us within a reasonable time that they have started legal action, we may restore the content.

5. Repeat infringers

Members who repeatedly infringe other people’s rights will have their accounts closed.

6. Please be accurate

Knowingly sending a false notice, or a false response to one, can have legal consequences. If you are not sure whether something infringes your rights, consider asking a lawyer first.

7. Other kinds of removal requests

  • A photo or video of you posted without your consent, including intimate images: report it at once to safety@owambemeter.com and we will prioritise it.
  • Trademarks, impersonation or counterfeit goods: write to legal@owambemeter.com with the details.
  • Court orders and official requests: please send them to legal@owambemeter.com.

More about what we remove and why is in our Community Guidelines.
